• Sunday, October 6th at 9:00 a.m. LWML Sunday.  And, at 10:20 a.m. Special Voters Meeting on the Revised Constitution and By-Laws

ITEMS MISSING from the day of Stan's memorial:  A serving spoon with purple duct tape on it; and, a clear glass salad bowl (single serving size) with lettuce leaf pressed design.  If found, please bring these to the church office.  Thank you!

HELP NEEDED:
Samaritan's Purse:  Operation Christmas Child -- Donations needed include:  Toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, towels, socks, hair ties/barrettes, ball caps, watches, hard candy, small toys (ie; slinky, yoyo, kazoo, jumprope, small stuffed animals), sunglasses, coloring books, notepads, crayons, pens/pencils, stickers.  Please NO chocolate(s) or liquid(s).  Please bring these items to Grace no later than Wednesday, October 16th.  This will be the last day to pack and ship.  See Diane G. or Mary B. with any questions.  PS--We also need shoeboxes with removable lids!!!

MEMORIAL FUNDS REPORT:  1) In honor of Claudia Walker, a cement bench with plaque was placed at St. Paul's Cemetery.  2) In honor of Gerald Tappe, 24 small print & 12 large print Bibles were purchased.  3) In honor of Larry Ross, 36 more Bibles were purchased.  Thank you to all who contributed to these memorials.

PRAYER CHAIN:  Please pick up your updated prayer chain list in your mailboxes.  We need to start using the new list on immediately. 

EVENTS:
LWML Meeting open to all congregants and guests!  On Wednesday, September 18th at 10:30am in the Social Hall, our featured speaker will be a representative from Ronald McDonald House.  All Grace members--male and female--and their guests are invited to attend!  Our hostesses are preparing yummy desserts and beverages.  We are hoping for a great turnout for this event!!!

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans:  Economic Update, Sunday, September 22 at 12:15pm in the Social Hall.  Straight talk about current markets to help you answer important questions, like:  "Should I react to economic headlines?  Could my investments be doing better?  Is it time to change my financial strategy?"  Refreshments will be served.  There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex.  The deadline to sign-up is Friday, September 20th.

Samaritan's Purse:  Operation Christmas Child -- There is a large box in the Narthex for donated items, such as:  Toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, towels, Kleenex, socks, ball caps, watches, barrettes, hair ties, hard candy, small slinkys, sunglasses, yoyos, kazoos, coloring books, jump ropes, stickers, crayons, rulers, tablets, pens/pencils--generally, small toys, toiletry items, and school supplies!  Please NO chocolates or liquids!  Shoeboxes with removable lids are also needed!  Please bring all items to GLC no later than Wednesday, October 16th.  Contact Diane G. or Mary B. with any questions.

Praise in the Mountains:  The 22nd Annual Free Christian Concert, Saturday, August 31st at Gateway Park in Penn Valley.  Drawings, prizes and food all day long!  The Rhythm Riders and Will Derryberry are just a couple of the music makers this year!  The event will kick off at 1 p.m. and will end around 9 p.m.  So, come for a while or stay for the whole event!

SAMARITANS PURSE, OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:  We are starting to collect different items each month for this ministry.  For August, we need:  School supplies; flip-flops & socks; and, hygiene items (please, NO liquid soap!). Place donated items in the box in the Narthex.  Thank you!  For more information, contact Diane G. or Mary B.
